Our comrade Awais Qarni, a central leader of the Revolutionary Student Front and editor of the Asian Marxist Review, was arrested along with Ahsan Javed, a leader of the PSC, and Hammad Kakar. They were arrested by the Punjab police during a protest in solidarity with the ongoing mass movement in Jammu and Kashmir. These arrests are clear evidence that the Pakistani state seeks to suppress any voice raised in support of this movement, not only in Jammu Kashmir, but also in Pakistan.
We strongly condemn these arrests and demand the immediate release of all our detained comrades.
